Trend Alert | Bench Seating

Think outside the chairs for your next event with bench seating. From a wedding ceremony, to a dinner party, to a corporate event – benches might be the solution you’ve been looking for! Check out these 4 ways to incorporate bench seating at your event.

1. Ceremony

Utilize benches to achieve a more unique ceremony look. For a rustic wedding, you can set up rows of light or dark wood benches, with or without pads and pillows, and decorate with natural florals or cozy blankets. You can also mix in some coordinating chairs (try Cross-Back or Felicity) for a dynamic look. If you prefer a more modern and luxurious vibe, start with our new white and gold Brigette benches and pair them with a sleek chair (try Phantom).

2. Dining

Our more decorative benches are perfect for sweetheart table seating, while some of our seating collections (Felicity) include a dining chair and a perfectly matched bench option for a coordinated look at long or square dining tables.

3. Lounge

A more traditional use for bench seating is in a lounge area. This is where you can really get creative and mix-and-match different furniture pieces until you find the perfect look for your event. From modern to romantic to farmhouse, there are endless combinations to try, and incorporating benches adds more seating space while bringing variety to the look.

4. Convenience

If your event takes place in a large area, or you anticipate guests needing a spot to sit and rest for a moment, benches are the perfect solution for quick and convenient seating. While a simple wood bench will be appreciated by tired guests, adding a Market Umbrella or some cute throw pillows will elevate it to a stylish comfort station.

Trend Alert | 4 Stylish and Fun Fourth of July Party Ideas

It’s officially summer, and with less than two weeks until Fourth of July, now is the time to start planning your Independence Day festivities! Keep reading for 4 Stylish and Fun Fourth of July Party Ideas.

1. Beverage Service

In the heat of July, it’s important that everyone stays hydrated. Fill big dispensers or pitchers with ice water and disperse them around the party area to make sure your guests stay safe in the warm weather. You can also use glass dispensers as self-serve stations for mixed drinks or sangria with fresh fruits. Or, if you prefer to serve single-serving beverages, fill up big buckets with ice and stock them with bottles and cans.

2. Fun and Games

Something about this holiday manages to get everyone in a playful mood. Be prepared with lots of lawn games and activities for the kids as well. Ring toss is an easy DIY project, tic-tac-toe and Yahtzee have large lawn versions, and water guns and bubble stations will keep kids entertained for hours.

3. Creating Comfort

Since the Fourth of July is usually a day that’s spent outdoors, make sure guests are kept comfortable throughout the day and into the night. Sunscreen and bug spray will be appreciated, and setting up lounge furniture and fire pits will have everyone relaxing well into the night as you wait for the fireworks to begin.

4. Fireworks and Sparklers

Every Fourth of July party should end with some sort of fireworks! If you can’t bring out the big ones (or don’t feel like transporting the entire party to a firework-safe location), sparklers are a fun alternative for guests of all ages. Have plenty on hand for the end of the night when everyone wants to join in on the fun!

How To | 5 Tips for Hosting Easter Brunch

Easter is right around the corner, which means it’s time to start planning your celebration! And those mid-morning Easter egg hunts are always more enjoyable after a delicious brunch with family and friends. Follow these 5 tips for hosting your own Easter brunch.

1. Lighten up your color palette

Sure, a case can be made for dark, moody color palettes on Easter, but part of this holiday is celebrating the beginning of spring and leaving the darkness of winter in the past. Lighten up the colors in your décor and lean toward pastels and other bright springtime colors.

2. Go for softer linens

Brunch can be a relaxed affair, especially when you get to enjoy it with your family. Make it even cozier with ruffled, soft linens. Velvet or sheer runners can add a perfect touch of soft texture that you can utilize almost anywhere.

3. Load up on florals

Your Easter celebration is a great opportunity to capitalize on everyone’s excitement for spring! We suggest bringing out as many florals as you can, from table centerpieces to décor all around your home.

4. Make the beverages self-serve

Whether it’s orange juice, coffee, or mimosas, brunch can have several beverage options. Setting up self-serve drink stations can take the pressure off the hosts and allows everyone to enjoy the beverage of their choice. Put coffee into urns, pour juices into carafes, and create a bubbly bar with champagne glasses at the ready.

5. Let guests lounge

After a delicious meal, you want to make sure your guests have a comfy place to relax while the young ones start searching for eggs. You can rent couches, chairs, benches and pillows to create a cozy lounge area indoors, or rent outdoor furniture like loveseats, coffee tables, couches and chairs to take in the fresh spring air.

How To | 5 Must-Haves for a Backyard BBQ

It’s officially summer, and that means you can start looking forward to hosting a backyard BBQ for your friends and family! Before you get that grill going, make sure you’re not missing any these 5 must-haves for a backyard BBQ that’s sure to impress.

1. Food
A BBQ isn’t a BBQ without some good grub! Whether you go for a classic menu with hot dogs and hamburgers, or you want to get a little more creative, make sure you serve a main dish that will satisfy a crowd. If the thought of hovering over the grill for the whole evening has you dreading your own party, consider renting a Hot Dog Steamer to do all the work for you! Another key feature of any BBQ is the snacks. Chips, dips, salads and candy are no-brainers when it comes to quick and easy snacking. But why not think outside the box for your party? You can rent a Popcorn Machine or Sno-Cone Machine to make snacking part of the fun for your guests!

2. Drinks
Whether this is a family gathering or an adult party, you need to have some type of beverages for your guests while they’re socializing out in the hot sun. Fill up Glass Beverage Containers with water, iced tea, lemonade, or some sort of adult-only concoction. Not only do they bring a classic picnic look to your party, they are very good at keeping your beverages bug and dirt-free. For pre-packaged drinks like bottled water, soda, or beer, fill up a Galvanized Tub or Horse Trough with lots of ice and have your guests help themselves.

3. Table Settings & Décor
BBQs in the summer scream red, white and blue! Get festive with your table settings and go for the patriotic look. Our Red and White Check or Blue and White Check table drapes and napkins can get the look started with that classic picnic style. Whether you go with real or paper plates, try pairing them with a Wicker Charger to really impress your guests. Our White Lanterns are also a great patriotic décor option. Fill it with red flowers or candles to light up the night!

4. Entertainment
You can’t forget the entertainment! Lawn games are a lot of fun for party-goers of all ages. You can DIY or buy many popular backyard games like bean bag toss, horseshoes, bocce ball, ladder golf, giant Jenga, giant tic-tac-toe, twister… The list goes on! Or if you’re looking for a less active activity, there are countless fireside games you can try. Just take a seat around the Fire Pit and play 20 questions, 2 truths and 1 lie, the celebrity name game and more!

5. Seating
Now that you have enough food, drink and entertainment to draw guests in, you have to think about where they are all going to sit. It’s easy to overlook this detail when planning a big get-together in a place where you may not always need so much seating. Luckily there are some quick and easy fixes for a seat shortage. You can rent a wide variety of outdoor furniture, from a matching couch and chairs set (Monaco) to functional wooden chairs and side tables (Adirondack).
